Bradley Company drives volunteer efforts across the midwest for Month of Giving Back philanthropic campaign
Indianapolis, Ind. (Bradley Co.) – In 2023, Bradley Company pledged to give back to our communities through days of service. Our regional teams in South Bend, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Grand Rapids, MI volunteered with organizations in their local area to make a direct impact in our communities. By partnering with local non-profits, Bradley Company continues to strive toward our core purpose of building partnerships, improving communities, and changing lives.
Our northernmost office, which serves the western Michigan market for commercial real estate brokerage and property management, kicked off the 2023 initiative through a volunteer day aligned with United Way’s Day Of Caring, their largest corporate volunteer event of the year. To give back to the Michigan community, Bradley Company West Michigan elected to volunteer with two organizations: Puerta Abiertas and C-SNIP. Puertas Abiertas provides resources for families and women who are survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault, stalking, and workplace discrimination. Our professionals were fortunate enough to overhaul and clean up the properties of multiple families and meet the women who were so deserving and appreciative of the help. Bradley Company’s team in Grand Rapids also dedicated volunteer time to work with C-SNIP, the Community Spay/Neuter Initiative Partnership. Volunteers deep-cleaned the facility, gave a fresh paint job to the main lobby, and landscaped the property grounds. The volunteer day was registered and recognized by the local Grand Rapids chapter, Heart of West Michigan United Way (HWMUW).
In South Bend, the birthplace of Bradley Company and home to our longest-standing brokerage and property management team, our professionals gathered from throughout the region, including multifamily management teams from Granger and brokers from Elkhart. The local organizations we consistently partner with are Camp Millhouse and Center for the Homeless. Camp Millhouse to maintain the grounds and prepare for closing out the season, as well as lending a hand to Center for the Homeless. At Camp Millhouse, Bradley Company professionals helped clean, landscape, and prepare the grounds for the closing of the season. Camp Millhouse is a camp designed for people of all abilities, which serves children and adults with disabilities by offering swimming, music, evening all-camp programs and 24-hour nursing staff for special medication and diet supervision. Part two shifted focus to Center for the Homeless, the area’s largest residential facility of it’s kind, which consists of a residential building, administrative building, children’s natural play area, a community garden, recreation center, a universal sports court, and the Robert L. Miller Sr. Veteran’s Center. Bradley Company professionals worked to support the gift & collateral components by creating handmade items for the Center’s fundraising efforts.
In northeast Indiana, our Fort Wayne team identified SCAN Inc. and Blessings in a Backpack as the two organizations for their volunteer days. SCAN Inc.’s mission is to protect children, prepare parents, strengthen families and educate the community to Stop Child Abuse and Neglect. The organization is well-known for their fundraising event, which has taken place annually since 1988, in which thousands of toy ducks race from the Wells Street bridge down the St. Mary’s River. To support the event, Bradley Company professionals from our Fort Wayne facilities maintenance team, brokerage team, and multifamily property manager team all joined in to clean & prep the ducks for the big day. In part two, the Fort Wayne team partnered with Blessings in a Backpack Fort Wayne, whose mission is to mobilize communities, individuals, and resources to provide food on the weekends for school-aged children who might otherwise go hungry. Bradley Company professionals worked to pack gift & supply bags which get distributed to Fort Wayne Community Schools students every Friday to support nutrition over the weekends.
Last but not least, our principal office in Indianapolis elected to give back to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc., a network of about 300 partner agencies in 21 counties, including emergency food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters. Together, our Bradley Company professionals served 266 families through the on-site food pantry, scanned & sorted 1,321 pounds of food, assembled 250 holiday boxes, and packaged 14,000 meals.
Thank you to the partners chosen by our four regional markets this year: Camp Millhouse, Center for the Homeless, CSNIP, Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc., Heart of West Michigan United Way, Puertas Abiertas , and SCAN Inc.
